Anslem Ziramabagabo (DIT and Worldview student)

"My name is Zirimabagabo Anslem and I heard about DIT from our leader of the Navigators ministry at Makerere University where I was studying, and it got my attention. I thought we were going to just be taught how to disciple others or something else when I joined, but one thing I experienced more than anything was love.

I was taught how to love and this encouraged me to have a relationship with my dad. I grew up fearing my dad, as he used to beat me up everytime I would do something wrong. As a result I hated him so much, because it didn’t stop at me. He used to get drunk and quarrel with us all at home; sometimes even beat my mom.

After DIT, I learnt how to love my dad, and I travelled home and talked to him together with my mom. I explained to him how I love him, and I always tell him every time I get a chance. He apologized to me and told me how he loves me, too. I thank God for the gift of love. My other experience was Worldview, where I was exposed to a different point of view from what I had before, mostly in how I used to worship God. I realized I was always trying to manipulate God. I thank God for revealing that to me through Pastor Dave’s ministry and for his family, the hugs, the laughter, and how homely it felt to be at the Father’s house."
