Taking the love of the Father to Africa since 1997
We were created to be at home in the Father's love – to know the security, the joy, the hope, the life, and the freedom that come from understanding and walking in the simple truth that we are deeply loved by God. But if we don’t understand the love of God, we can’t really know God. And therefore, we can’t experience the fullness of life that He created us to live; and we can’t give God the glory and praise and honor that He deserves in our lives.
From the moment we first arrived in Uganda in 1997, the Lord began to reveal to us the deep and widespread need for people to grasp and experience the love of the Father through Jesus Christ. Wherever we go, including in the Church, we encounter people with broken hearts - broken because of their own sin and because of the sin of others against them. And we find people who have been deceived by the empty promises of the world and weighed down by the demands of legalistic religion, which tell them that if they are going to find life, they have to work to earn it.
People need to experience God's love - not just to hear it in a sermon or to understand it as a theological concept. People need to see the Gospel alive in others. They need to experience the love and grace of God in real, day-to-day relationships.
The Father's Heart ministry is dedicated to helping young people in Uganda to really know and experience the life-transforming love of God: through relational discipleship, ministry training, counseling, resource development, and through opening our hearts and lives to people so that they can see the love of God at work in the context of a Christian family. Time and time again, we have watched in awe as the love of God invades broken lives and turns them into something beautiful. When people really understand and embrace His love, He takes the most hopeless of people and fills them with hope. He takes lives that were shattered and makes them whole. He takes those whom society had thrown away as useless, and He makes them His most faithful sons and daughters.
